Canton, OH – The law firm of Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A. is pleased to announce that John P. Maxwell has been elected a director of the firm.  Maxwell practices out of both the New Philadelphia and Canton offices.  His practice is concentrated in the areas of civil litigation in multiple areas including insurance law, appellate practice and creditor’s rights, as well as real estate, estate planning, and general business law.

Maxwell received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame where he graduated magna cum laude, and was recognized as a Notre Dame Scholar.  He completed his law degree from The Ohio State University College of Law where he graduated cum laude.

Maxwell is extremely involved in community activities in and around Tuscarawas County.  He is an Inaugural Board Member of the American Red Cross Stark County Regional Chapter Regional Advisory Council, and is a twelve-year Board Member of the American Red Cross, Muskingum Lakes Chapter, serving as past Chairman of the Board (2002-2005) and as an Executive Committee member.  He is a Board Member of the Tuscarawas County Law Library Resources Board, is a member of the Dover St. Joseph Knights of Columbus, serving as Advocate and Church Committee Chairman, and is a member of the Domenic Greco Memorial Community Band in Dover.  He is a former member and Vice-President of the Parish Council of St. Joseph Church in Dover, and is a former member and Vice-President of the St. Joseph Elementary School Board.

He is currently serving as a Mentor for the Ohio Supreme Court’s Lawyer-to-Lawyer Mentoring Program, mentoring a new lawyer over a one year period.  Maxwell resides in Dover with his wife Vicki and three children.
