Lucas joined the law firm of Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty Co., L.P.A. in 2012 as a law clerk.  A native of Canton, Ohio, Lucas was named an Associate of the firm after being admitted to practice law in May of 2015.  Lucas practices out of the Canton and Massillon offices.

Lucas, his wife Samantha, and their three children reside in Jackson Township.

Professional Experience:

  • Counsels clients in all aspects of their business including entity formation, entity selection, and business and succession planning
  • Experience in contract negotiations, mergers and acquisitions
  • Advises clients in the merger, sale, or acquisition of assets or equity of business including corporate organizing and reorganizing, stock/unit purchase and redemption agreements,  asset purchase agreements, and buy-sell agreements
  • Provides representation to clients as general corporate counsel, including employment and noncompetition agreements, supply, distribution, manufacturing and vendor agreements, standard terms and conditions for services or sale of products, and more
  • Counsels clients in the acquisition and leasing of commercial and residential real estate also including promissory notes for residential and commercial transactions
  • Advises clients in the design of retirement plans, including defined benefit, profit sharing and 401(k) plans, as well as cafeteria plans, flexible spending plans, health reimbursement plans and dependent care plans
  • Assists clients with current legal issues in the employee benefits area, including plan terminations, nondiscrimination rules for pension plans, health and welfare plans, cafeteria plans, and COBRA
  • Advises clients with respect to multi-employer pension plans, including withdrawal liability
  • Assists in developing employee benefit strategies for contract negotiations, mergers, acquisitions, and reductions in force
